Accessed directly off Blue Lakes Road near Highway 88, this single-lane dirt route functions as an out-and-back track tracing the picturesque perimeter of Hope Valley. Outdoor enthusiasts, campers, and anglers frequently travel this road to secure scenic primitive dispersed campsites, photograph sweeping mountain vistas, or access trout fishing along the West Fork Carson River. The driving surface consists of a wide, single-track hard-packed dirt road featuring sections of coarse crushed stone and small embedded granite rocks, earning an accessible grade 2 difficulty rating. Moving along the edge of the grassy flats, several roadside camping turnouts border the path. While published mapping data incorrectly indicates that the route crosses the West Carson River to continue for over two miles, the road actually terminates at 0.68 miles at the river's edge at a campsite where large rock boulders permanently block further passage.
