Trail Overview

Begin either from Boca Campground or off Highway 89 / 886—either way, this flat route is just the start of what’s out there to explore. Following well-maintained Forest Service roads, it’s a quick, easy side route that keeps you off the busier, more established main corridors when heading toward Prosser from Boca (or vice versa). Expect soft dirt with light ruts in spots and frequent connections into other trail systems. Avoid winter months, as snow can make the route difficult or impassable.

Hobart Mills (889 turned 17E26) was an easy jaunt from Hwy 89 (turnoff at Hobart Mills Road and follow 889 up to the trail entrance on the right, be careful, it comes up quickly) through to Boca Springs Road, terminating near the Boca Campground. The trail is mostly sloped forest driving, with slow but steady climbs and descents. While erosion caused some ruts over the winter, there's nothing that a typical 4x4 cannot handle. The vistas are gorgeous - we were treated to miles of Mule's Ear in full bloom!
