Trail Overview

Engineers Point Overlook is a short but steep climb delivering some of the best elevated views in the Lake Isabella area. The trail ascends over 100 feet to a high viewpoint above the lake where the water and surrounding mountains spread out below. The drop off the back side of the viewpoint is equally abrupt, connecting to the Engineers Point trail below.

Difficulty

Engineers Point Overlook rates a 3, driven primarily by the steep and rapid elevation change over a short distance. The climb up and the abrupt descent off the back side both demand capable footing and attentive driving. Drivers can return the same way or continue through to complete a loop via Engineers Point, combining two of the better viewpoints in the Lake Isabella network in a single outing.
