First 2/3 was dry, some muddy spots in deeper ruts / pot holes. Last 1/3 it started to rain but our vehicles (2023 bronco w/ SAS, and a 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser) has no issues. Easy trail, only obstacle we ran into is the “creak” crossing, which just requires your vehicle to have a little bit of ground clearance. Over all a fun simple trail. We did hit a few of the off shoot trails. If you would like to see a video of the full trail, here is a link: https://youtu.be/0Dxj0AJnIjo?si=IoGc6WUMxArJGNXx

Muddy in some sections from recent rains, but mostly dry and in decent condition. Entire trail is open from both ends.

Extremely easy dirt road, but has an insane amount of ruts holes etc. will be bouncing around a lot nice views of the coastal range but I definitely wouldn’t come here during the summertime. It’s currently March 2026 and we are experiencing a record heat wave. It was only 81° on the trail, but it was hot and dusty. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like on this trail in July or August little to no shade anywhere. As a sidenote, there are several side little trails, which are kind of fun but one trail which is Mark called. Hunter Creek Trail is most definitely in one section rating of six if not a seven if you’re not experienced, don’t try going down or up because of the insane washout and ruts I wouldn’t go out of your way for this trail

Went right after big rain, was pretty muddy and washed out. definitely need at least 4wd to get out of some of the muddy areas . When its dry you could probably get by in 2wd.

Nice drive offering expansive views of the coastal range. Nothing too challenging but it was a while since last rains and mostly dry with some puddles. High clearance and 4wd required, low range unnecessary on a dry day. Assume it's quite a bit trickier in the wet, we saw some deep ruts in the dried out muddy areas. Restroom available at hunting creek campground.

Fun and pretty easy on the main trail. There are many fun offshoots that are more aggressive and reconnect. You will definitely need 4low and a little courage. You’ll find a few plateau over looking the valley below, truly epic vistas.

Nothing to crazy. Roads were a little damp coming from the north entrance ending in. Seen a few fire pits on the way in. Couple of more aggressive trails that reconnect back to the main trail. Good fun overall.

Easy trail, able to do it on 2wd - dusty and a bit mud spots here and there. Ends up at Knoxville road leading to Berryessa lake-that road sucks! 8 miles of potholes- I suggestions going back and doing the trail again.

This is definitely higher than the 2 rating, rutted and rocky path the entire way. It will test your suspensions for sure. Can’t imagine going through here with a low clearance suv. Would also avoid the Knoxville road from the east side, there were miles of deep potholes on both side of the road.

First Time Rookie going off-road and doing it in my brand new leased Hummer EV Pickup. The trail was wide open and fun, cool little dips around Hunter’s Campground. I had to back down the tighter trail above the camp because of 2 probable rookies coming down scared. The Hummer has 397 camera angles, so although I was panicked as shxt, I backed it down smooth. Hardest part of the trail was Knoxville Road from Lake Berryessa to the Knoxville entrance. It has huge potholes for like 10 miles so definitely go in from the North and out the North.
