Trail Overview

This very narrow, fine-dirt trail offers scenic views of Mono Lake and the surrounding mountains throughout the drive. Expect heavy overgrown vegetation that makes pinstriping likely, little room for vehicles to pass, and ruts ranging from 6–10 inches deep. The fine dirt can become more difficult when wet. Around 0.8 miles, a parking area for the historic Dechambeau Ranch can accommodate approximately eight vehicles. The 320-acre ranch can be explored on foot and preserves stabilized original buildings along with historic barbed wire, ditches, roadways, fence lines, and a well from its ranching history.
