Easy: Steep in a few places and one short stretch is a bit rocky. Snow sometimes lingers well into July. Compacted volcanic pumice can be dusty. Suitable for any stock 4x4 SUV.

Open dusty easy trail if you are comfortable with driving the high ridge up top. Incredible views worth the short trip.

Access Description

Take Highway 203 west into Mammoth Lakes from Highway 395. About 1.3 miles after the wellmarked visitor center, follow 203 right uphill towards Mammoth Ski Area. Continue west about 5 more miles. Turn right on a paved road just before Minaret Vista Entry Station. Go north 200 feet to dirt road on right just after a dirt pullover area.
