Trail Overview
Starting just off Old Gorge Road near Highway 395, this is a scenic trail winding through rolling hills lined with pine trees and brush, with dramatic rock formations in every direction. The Eastern Sierra mountains rise close by, and at about Mile 4, the White Mountains and Casa Diablo Mountain come into view. The trail is mostly sandy and smooth, about one vehicle wide, with low brush providing clear, expansive views. There are occasional unexpected humps, so keep an eye on your speed. Along the way, you'll encounter a large open meadow, and later a valley of taller, sharper brush that may leave stripes on larger rigs. Numerous spur trails branch off, offering additional exploring opportunities.
