Trail Overview

This 4.2-mile route is a breezy, wide-open forest arterial that serves as the primary connector between Sky Ranch Road (FS 6S10) and Beasore Road (FS 5S07). Unlike the tight, technical spurs that branch off it, Beasore Loop is designed for easy transit, allowing for a relaxed, scenic cruise through the high Sierra timber. The trail is defined by its eclectic mix of surfaces: you’ll roll from smooth natural dirt onto sections of graded gravel, and then suddenly rumble across patches of broken, potholed pavement. The road is wide enough for two-way traffic virtually everywhere, making it a stress-free link to major destinations like Kelty Meadow and Fresno Dome. It’s the kind of road where you can roll the windows down, enjoy the fresh pine air, and not worry about pinstripes.

Difficulty

While this road poses absolutely no technical challenge to 4WD systems (no steep climbs, ledges, or rocks), it earns a Rating 2 strictly due to the deteriorating road surface. The sections of broken pavement and deep potholes require drivers to pay attention and slow down to avoid jarring impacts. Aside from the bumps, the road is wide, graded, and accessible to any high-clearance passenger vehicle, including stock 2WD SUVs and crossovers. It is a transit road, not a technical trail.
