Alpers Spring - FS 1S06

1. Main Trail Description: This 1.53-mile trail starts at Big Springs Road FS32E-601-SNO and ends at Indiana Summit Trail, climbing 218 feet and dropping 80 feet. This is one trail that can get you to Clark's Canyon and Al's Garage climbing areas. The sand and pumice surface is one vehicle wide with occasional rocks to maneuver around, lined with sagebrush and signs of an old forest fire. There are stunning views of the Eastern Sierras including Mammoth Mountain, Mount Morrison, Mini Morrison, and other peaks along 395. The trail runs along a shelf road that's very narrow with some rocks on it, offering stunning mountain views.
