Trail Overview

This very narrow trail is named for the waterfall found at about the 1.3-mile mark (if running north to south). The trail is legal for full-size vehicles, but the trail width is better suited to a UTV, as squeezing between trees is a common theme throughout. Even if you fit between the trunks, be aware that pinstripes are almost guaranteed, as often tree limbs stick out into the trail space. Full-size vehicles wider than a 4Runner should not enter unless ok with body damage. There are a handful of creek crossings that are short and rarely exceed axle height. At the north end of the trail is a gate that marks the beginning of the National Forest. Please close the gate behind you. There are no campsites or facilities on the trail. According to the MVUM, OHVs are not allowed on this trail.

Difficulty

This very narrow trail contains lots of slippery roots and large rocks that can be a challenge, especially when climbing the trail (south to north). The trail has eroded heavily around these obstacles, which have resulted in steps up as tall as 3 feet. Deep mud holes up to 3 feet can also be a challenge at the north and south ends of the trail.

2006 Toyota Sequoia

Did the entire trail with a 2006 sequoia. With 265/75/16 nitto terra grappler g3 tires, aired down to 20psi. Very fun trail, but very challenging and technical. Hardest things: this trail is NARROW in alot of spots, you cannot avoid getting scratches and pinstripes. Also one off camber part of the trail where some Roots sticking out push you to the right side up against a pine tree where you literally have only a few centimeters of space scratched my back fender on it. #2. VERY STEEP ROUGH AND ROCKY, difficult Hill Climb if starting from the beginning of the trail( it would be a descent if you were coming down this trail from Crawley Ridge. One part during the ascent where there's alot of pine trees the trail is washed out and eroded really bad with roots going to the middle of the trail that is pretty much impossible to do(bypass available). #3 difficult thing is many big rocks and roots in the trail. Good tires and good ground clearance are necessary. Probably won't take my car through this trail again.

2023 Jeep Gladiator

Very tight trail for Jeep Gladiator. Expect scratches and potential busted tail lights with how close the trees are on the trail. Some of the hill climbs (South to North) have large roots in the trail and could be a challenge for some vehicles. Also, several deep mud holes at the beginning of the trail, suggest you get out to verify depth before dropping in (not rock bottom).
