Trail Overview
Polk 410 Stream & Camp is a six-mile point-to-point gravel trail in the Ouachita National Forest of Arkansas, ideal for beginners, families, and those seeking a peaceful drive with excellent dispersed camping opportunities. This well-maintained route winds through lush forest terrain between the West Boundary area and Forest Road 30, offering stunning views of surrounding peaks like Blowout Mountain and Bee Mountain. Traveling along the route, drivers will experience a mild elevation change, climbing to a maximum elevation of 1,391 feet while dropping to a minimum of 1,048 feet. The road is typically wide enough for two vehicles to pass easily.
The primary surface consists of maintained grave. High-clearance vehicles are recommended during the wet season when low-lying creek crossings may flow across the trail. Wildlife is abundant throughout the area, and visitors should remain alert for deer, black bears, and other offroaders, including ATVs and UTVs sharing the road. Dispersed campsites are scattered along the corridor, providing rustic overnight spots near mountain streams for those looking to extend their stay in the Ouachita backcountry.
Access Description
The route is located within the Ouachita National Forest and is managed by the US Forest Service. No permit or fee is required to drive the trail, but dispersed camping must adhere to standard USFS rules, including pack-in, pack-out ethics and camping limitations.
