Trail Overview

Gap Ridge Trail is located off Highway 16 near the town of Sand Gap. The trail starts with muddy sections and downed tree crossings, adding some challenges early on. There are campsites located near the beginning of the trail, but continuing past the deeper road section opens up into a large open field with overgrown vegetation, tight trees, and rock obstacles. This trail provides a more rugged backcountry experience and offers opportunities to get off the beaten path and explore more secluded areas.

Difficulty

Gap Bridge Trail features mud holes, deep ruts, dried-out sections, rocky terrain, and log crossings that create plenty of off-camber moments and add to the technical challenge of the ride. This overgrown trail provides a more rugged trail-riding experience, so be prepared for changing conditions and obstacles along the route, and slight inclines.
