Trail Overview
Action Run (FS 1342) is a connector trail linking Rex Road to Briarbend Road, with access to Wilderness Mountain Road and several other nearby trails. Since portions of the trail cross private property, please stay on the designated route and respect the landowners. If you're starting from the Rex Road side, you'll be tackling the more technical direction. The trail begins with an off-camber obstacle that can require over 18 inches of articulation before opening up into a mix of wide and narrow sections. Along the way, you'll encounter creek crossings, mud holes, large rocks, fallen logs, rock ledges, and several steep climbs and descents. It offers a good variety of technical obstacles, so a capable 4WD with decent ground clearance is highly recommended. There are also several camping spots along the trail. If you're planning to camp, be aware of your surroundings, and always camp responsibly by following Leave No Trace principles.
Difficulty
Trail has rock ledges and V-notch spots, with definite off-camber sections and some great uphill and downhill descents. Trail has some larger drop-offs and ledges that could change based on weather. There is also a water crossing.
