West Side (Easy)

West Side starts on the edge of one of the dirt roads in the Laguna Hills, and goes across a flat desert terrain that is packed loose rock. There are several rock “goal posts” that help mark the trail. It winds along the rolling desert hilltops and drops into a rocky wash. The trail can be a bit hard to see when it enters and exits the wash, but look for the rock cairns. It starts climbing up a few rocky hillsides that are really red, where the trail narrows up and side-hills with mild exposure, but you get really great views from atop the ridge. It passes a couple of intersections for other trails, then goes through a wash that has chunky embedded rock layers that you ride over.
