Trail Overview
The beginning of this trail (the western end) is a mild nightmare. A fenceline road, it has sections of overgrown trees and shrubbery that guarantee paint damage. The wash crossings, while not overtly problematic, are off-camber and steep. There are many spots of erosion along this trail, so it's slow going. This trail terminates at a fence by the railroad tracks. This route is on Arizona State Trust Land and requires a yearly permit that can be purchased and printed online. The permits allow certain recreational activities, including camping, bicycling, bird watching, GPS-based recreational activities (geocaching), hiking, horseback riding, off-highway vehicle (OHV) usage, photography, picnicking, and sightseeing.
Difficulty
This is an unmaintained dirt road, with wash crossings and overgrown trees and brush. The wash crossings and erosion might prove difficult if you're running this trail after or during a moisture event.
