Trail Overview

The Narrows Trail is a classic desert challenge, perfect for those who crave a mix of technical terrain and tight spaces. This route lives up to its name with narrow passages that demand precision and focus. **(BE ADVISED- This trail was mapped with a 2021 Tacoma, and anything larger will not fit in some of the canyon sections.)** You'll navigate through a winding wash with stretches of deep, soft sand that can test your traction and momentum. Rutted sections and hill climbs in and out of the wash keep things exciting, adding a steady rhythm of ascents and descents to your ride. Difficulty

This is an unmaintained canyon/wash trail. **NOTE - Some sections of this trail are extremely narrow and rutted with deep soft sand.** The trail was run with a 2021 Tacoma and full-size vehicles will have trouble making some of the tight turns. Please see the photos for reference. Also, this trail is in a wash. Please check the weather prior to and during this trail, as flash floods are prone to strike this area as water flows through and shapes this environment.

We took "The Narrows" (FR 18005) from "Little Horn Peak Road" (FR 9019) to FR 9353. It is mainly a wash style conditions, and lives up to it's name. There is one spot that has some rocks you need to drive through. We had vehicles between 60" and 73". All made it through no problem. The wider machines had to maneuver a bit differently than we did in our 2013 XP4, but no one had any problems getting through. There are owls flying around, and cows throughout the trail if you hit it on the right day.
