Trail Overview

This maintained Forest Service Road travels from 64 through a lovely Ponderosa Pine forest Westward, out onto the Coconino Plateau. It has large, primitive, pull-through campsites closer to Highway 64. After crossing the tracks from the historic Grand Canyon Railway, the road does become a little rougher and narrower, but still stays wide enough for 2 vehicles in most spots. Once on the Plateau, you'll see views of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The trail terminates at the Havasupai Indian Reservation on the West, with a locked gate and permit/fee usage only. There are several other trails that offshoot from this road, so it's a great spot for dirt exploration. There are no obstacles on this trail.

Made it to the reservation gate, there is a trail that parallels the reservation, going north, that you can take out to Havasupai Point but the trail has been closed to public access by the forest service, you're not supposed to use it but it is wide open, no gate, not posted.
