Trail Overview

Strickland Wash is an interesting trail. With numerous wash crossings with steep entrances and exits, along with a couple of highly technical off-camber rock sections, this trail does not disappoint. Starting as a single-lane dirt road that meanders through the juniper trees, this trail has rock gardens, hill climbs, a water crossing, and many eroded areas along the trail. There is no cell service along this trail, so offline maps are essential to not get mixed up on the criss-crossings of the many trails of the Prescott National Forest. This area is popular with hunters, so don't be surprised to see other people out here enjoying the wilderness. There are obstacles on this trail, with one section in particular that might become a significant problem during the rainy season.

Difficulty

While this trail might seem like the typical erosion and wash-crossing trail, one particular section features a ledge drop into a wash, and a downhill off-camber erosion boulder problem that could prove more than some vehicles or their drivers can handle.
