Trail Overview

This short out-and-back offers some steeper climbs as it ascends further into the hills, eventually ending at a narrow hiking trail that offers even more elevation for viewing Yuma and the surrounding area. This route is less traveled but provides a challenging climb that an amateur should not attempt. The rocks are loose, with a few shelves that can challenge a well-modified rig. A well-built SXS or Moto will be the best rig for the job to get to the top. Be on the lookout for desert wildlife like the Tortious and Coyotes. There were even a few families of quail scurrying around. There are full bars of Verizon LTE cellular service.

My friend in his stock Jeep Rubicon climbed the trail easily and only needed 4L on the steep portion, no lockers and aired down to 15 PSI
