Secret Pass Cutoff

Secret Pass Cutoff is a moderately challenging 11.7-mile point-to-point offroad trail in the Black Mountains near Bullhead City, Arizona. The route features steep, loose climbs, sandy washes, and rocky ridges, reaching a maximum elevation of 3,812 feet. There are no extreme off-camber sections or large boulder obstacles, but the loose sand and steep grades require high clearance, four-wheel drive, and ideally a locking differential. The trail starts off Arizona State Route 68 and winds through scenic desert canyons with views of unique volcanic rock formations. With over 1,570 feet of elevation gain and 2,455 feet of loss, the route is best driven from autumn through spring to avoid extreme summer heat.
