Trail Overview
You can run Robbins Way Down north to south, with the entrance from the Turkey Run Trail. If you like the bumpy, rock-laden, and rough country of the Turkey Run, then you'll really enjoy Robbins Way Down. It carries on from large meadow views to the north and west down the lava-rock-esque trail, southward. There are glimmers of hope of smooth dirt as you go, but not until you cross a rocky creek, which during the rainy season or after a moisture event might prove challenging, if not downright dangerous. The main fun part of this trail is on the other side of this creek, which launches you up a steep hill with loose large rocks and downed trees blocking some of the trail. From there, you'll be dealing with off-camber erosion and wash crossings with steep entrances and exits until the southern end of the trail, where it tends to mellow a bit. There is no cell service on this trail, so offline maps are recommended.
