Trail Overview

Red Rim is a 3-mile loop on top of one of the mesas in this red sandy desert by Page, Arizona. It has awesome views out towards Glen Canyon and toward the town of Page. The trail starts as easy sand under the powerlines and climbs up the mesa. The climb is not hard, but it is deep sand. Once you are on top of the mesa, there are more slab rock layers under the sand. The rock creates small ledges up to a foot tall that are slightly off-camber and shelfy. This trail looks less ridden with fewer tracks and is a bit narrower. Like most of the trails in the area, it has lots of whoops. Part of the loop has more hardpacked dirt and less sand, but more slab rock. When you're on the rim of the mesa, it overlooks the whole valley. Overall the trail is still easy, but you need a vehicle with high clearance on the slick rock.

if you stick to the trail on the app you should have no problem with a stock jeep or similar just air down the tires as there is patches of deep sand. the trails go far beyond what's marked on here. Follow the power lines and the trails will dump you out on Copermine Rd. Just pay attention as this way takes you out of Page City and into Navajo Nation and you come in the backside of some cattle farms. Good trails and climbs in and out of the canyon.
