Trail Overview

The Rattlesnake Road trail begins wide and gradually narrows, providing a varied and scenic ride through the desert. This trail is rocky in sections, offering a bit of a challenge without any major obstacles to overcome, making it suitable for off-roaders of all skill levels. Along the way, you'll find several campsites, perfect for a rest or overnight stay. The trail connects both ends seamlessly, with part of it extending North toward the Harcuvar Mountain Wilderness, where there is a campsite, but no motorized use is allowed within its borders. Overall this trail allows you to experience a smooth and enjoyable ride while exploring the natural beauty of the area.

Difficulty

While the Southern section of this trail appears to be semi-graded and maintained, it is not the case with the Northern section, toward the Harcuvar Wilderness. You'll find a campsite at the North end of the trail, along the border of this wilderness, and in the wilderness itself no motorized use is allowed. There are rocky sections as well as the standard erosion and water damage in spots on this trail. There is no cell service in the area, so offline maps are recommended.
