Trail Overview
This challenging short out and back leads to the hiking, horseback, and mountain biking trailhead of Prospect Point. This TH appears to provide access to the beautiful Verde River by foot, horse, or mountain bike. The trail starts with loose rocky hill descent and then takes a sharp right up a berm and leads to a closed gate. Please keep the gate closed behind you. From there, the trail begins with a short small ledge climb. Not too far after that is the most challenging hill climb of the trail for which it's rated. With good tire placement, most 4x4s should be able to make it as long as the driver is comfortable. Always get out and walk it first if you aren't sure. Continuing from this obstacle, the trail twists and winds through the hills, over rocky obstructions with off-camber and loose hill climbs and more short ledges. The views at the end of the trail are outstanding, and the only fire ring noticed was at the hiking trailhead. Please close this gate behind you too. Well worth the trip for the views 1 bar LTE in and out.
