Trail Overview
This short single-track starts at a wider two-track off of North Castle Hot Springs Road. It's a really faint trail that you wouldn't see if you didn't have a map. It's unmarked and hidden, with only a few tracks to follow. The trail winds between the bushes on a very primitive trail. It joins up with a road for a moment, going through a big campsite, then climbs up into the hills. The initial climb is deeply rutted up a steep hill. It's really rocky and loose and steep, which will be a very difficult hill for a lot of riders. There are tons of baby heads that ping you around, plus embedded rock layers and small rock ledges, having to ride up a rock face while already on the steep hill. It descends back down on a skinny ridgeline. You ride next to big rock outcroppings. There are deep ruts on the descent. It drops into a deep ravine, closely lined with cactus, that you have to pick your way through. Since this trail is on Arizona State Trust Land, it requires a recreation permit that you can obtain online.
