Trail Overview
P5004B goes from 3456 on the North end (via P5004A) to 160 on the South end (via P5005). This trail has four distinct types of terrain. Starting from the South end of the trail, you go through a rock garden section characterized by red, black, and sometimes purple rocks of various sizes from a baseball to a football. Next up, you go through a wash section with some step ups and generally sandy terrain until you get into a mountainous area of terrain with plenty of hill climbs and descents along with a bit of exposure. Once you're through the mountainous section, you'll reach a flowy desert section on the North end of the trail before meeting up with P5004A. *Note* This trail combines P5004B and a small section of P5005 based on the MVUM as of Sept. 2021.
