Trail Overview
Old Stage Road is a versatile point-to-point trail suitable for starting from either end. The route winds through striking desert landscapes, connecting North Castle Hot Spring Road with Constellation Road. Along the way, adventurers are treated to scenic views of the desert and an immersive natural experience. If starting or ending at the Constellation Road entrance, there is a gate; it is important to ensure that this gate remains closed after passing through. The trail features shelf roads, with some sections experiencing drops of up to 15 inches, depending on the chosen driving line. Travelers will encounter a variety of desert conditions throughout the trail. The Trail is characterized by loose gravel and rocks. Numerous washes intersect the path; many are filled with loose sand that adds to the challenge and adventure. For those seeking an extended visit, multiple camping areas are available near the Castle Hot Springs trail entrance.

Easy, uneven, rutted dirt trail with potential for loose rocks and sandy washes. Potential for mud holes depending on weather and trail obstacles up to 15 inches, including ledges that do have bypasses. Some steep blind climbs.
