Mohave Wash

Mohave Wash is a scenic, 33.9-mile desert OHV route near Lake Havasu City. Starting directly off Highway 95, the trail winds through three distinct sandy washes surrounded by rolling desert hills and unique geological formations. With a low technical difficulty, the terrain is highly accessible to high-clearance 4WD vehicles, UTVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes, consisting primarily of soft sand, minor hill climbs, and occasional rocky patches. The route climbs approximately 1,900 feet, offering excellent views of the Mojave Desert. Due to its proximity to town, this is a popular route that experiences heavy weekend traffic. Drivers should maintain steady momentum through deep sand and watch for oncoming riders. Multiple historical mining sites with dangerous, open vertical shafts sit near the trail and must be avoided. The route is best traveled during the cooler months from fall through spring, as summer temperatures regularly exceed 100°F. Visitors should carry extra fuel, recovery gear, and plenty of water.
