Trail Overview
This one vehicle wide trail starts at EC1261 and cuts through a small canyon in the Trigo Mountains, leading to two challenging trails: Fist Full of Dollars and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. The surface is gravel, sand, and small rocks, with airing down highly recommended for better traction and control. The trail travels through a rock wash with some rocks up to 12 inches scattered throughout. You'll encounter lots of off-camber sections and uneven surfaces that make this slow-going rock crawling territory. The route is lined with gulf trees and other desert bushes and cactus that frame your journey through the canyon. Despite the remote canyon setting, you'll find good cell service throughout. This is an out-and-back trail.
Difficulty
This is a technical trail that demands attention and skill. The rock wash, off-camber sections, and uneven surfaces require careful line choice and slow speeds. Rocks up to 12 inches add to the challenge, and the narrow width leaves little room for error. High clearance is essential, and spotting may be helpful in trickier sections. The slow rock crawling pace is necessary to navigate safely.
