Trail Overview
Juniper Hill Loop clocks in at just over 4 miles long. The southern stretch of this loop holds the two main obstacles of this trail. So, if you like to descend obstacles, go clockwise, and if you like to ascend obstacles, go counter-clockwise. The biggest obstacle is a washed-out and rutted hill climb. As you navigate this hill, several deep ruts are accompanied by rocks. The second obstacle is a little farther down the trail to the east. This obstacle is a rock garden that consists of 4-5 rocks that are decently sized. The trail around Pinto Mesa Tank is faint in areas and has several rutted areas. The northern stretch of this trail is much milder, with small rocky and rutted areas scattered about.
