Trail Overview

This adventurous trail cuts across from the O'Haco trail area over the pass toward the Jimmie Wash area. The trail bumps over short, steep climbs and descents with fun articulation sections and deep ruts. There are some stunning rock formations and canyon walls along the route. A few of the deeper washout crossings may drag a receiver hitch. The route passes through dense saguaro cacti forests and cholla-jumping cactus groves. In the springtime, the wildflowers are stunning all over the hillsides. Keep your eyes peeled for smaller blooming cacti along the sides of the trail. It's a solid choice for a slightly technical cutover trail through some beautiful country. Be aware of rattlesnakes and other desert wildlife, and bring lots of water. There are no dispersed campsites along this route. One bar of Verizon LTE fades in and out. It can get very hot very quickly out here; be sure to pack lots of extra water and supplies.

Difficulty

The trail rating is for deep washouts. There are off-camber hillsides and flexy sections where good suspension articulation is helpful. Some obstacles require good line choice. The trail is narrow in places, and paint damage is guaranteed.
