Trail Overview
This trail is challenging and fun, and has it all! Steep rocky inclines/declines? Check! Loose rock off-camber shelf road section? Check! Ledges? Check! Deep erosion and wash crossings? Check! This trail has just enough challenges to make your driving time a growth experience without putting you in a dire situation. The erosion section has enough of a drop-off to make it dicey, but not enough to make you want to end the trail. A few very steep entrances and exits to the many wash crossings force you to slow down and choose proper lines, instead of just charging through! This is a popular area with ranchers grazing their cattle, so don't be surprised if you have a steer or two as an audience whilst you work on the ledges or rocks up the hill. There is no cell service on this trail, so offline maps are essential in this area of the Prescott National Forest. Juniper, ponderosa pine, jackrabbits, cattle, deer, and elk as well as various bird species are just some of the local flora and fauna you'll see on this trail.
