Trail Overview
This is a short and primitive trail through BLM land near Salome, Arizona, with some really steep hills. The trail is wide like a two-track, with a bit of grass overgrown in the middle, constantly full of small loose rocks. There are some really steep climbs and descents on this route where the trail ascends up a mountainside on a really loose climb, tops out at a scenic view at the peak, and then descends on the backside. It rides on narrow ridgelines between the peaks. It’s really scenic, and at the top of one of the peaks, there’s a tiny extra spur you can explore to get to a higher view. The trail is entirely unmarked with no signs indicating the width designation. It looks like it gets used by UTVs, so dirt bikes should be aware of larger vehicles on the trail.
Difficulty
This trail is more moderate due to the steep and loose climbs and the more primitive nature of the trail. There is one steep spot where the trail is more rutted with embedded rock layers, which adds some technicality.
