FS 9004J

Forest Service Road 9004J begins off the Cherry Cutoff Guided Trail and travels north. The majority of the trail consists of sand and decomposed granite. The southern portion is sandy, with some erosion ruts scattered along the route. You’ll follow a dry wash past a gate and an old windmill. After the windmill, the trail begins to climb in elevation. As you ascend, several erosion ruts and loose rocks must be carefully traversed. The trail leads up to a saddle that offers great views of the surrounding area. Continuing north, the trail narrows and becomes heavily overgrown with vegetation. It ends at a large washout that blocks further progress. If you drive to the end with a full-sized 4x4, you may have difficulty turning around, and paint damage is likely due to overgrowth.
