Trail Overview
This dirt two-track heads back toward Knoll Lake, starting flat and easy before quickly introducing a series of large puddles that can vary greatly depending on recent rain or snow. There are usually drive-arounds, but conditions can change fast if it's been wet. The trail offers many dispersed camping options and a good chance of spotting wildlife, including elk, deer, snakes, turkey, horned lizards, and even bears. As you continue, you'll encounter small rock ledges, bumpy sections of exposed rock, and more deep puddles, with a few tighter stretches of pine branches mixed in among otherwise open terrain. The final half mile is the most challenging, with multiple rocky ledges around 2ft and steep descents. The terrain becomes sandier toward the end, adding another layer of difficulty when combined with the rocks.

Difficulty
This trail is rated 5/10 due to the variable conditions from deep water crossings, rocky ledges, and the steep, technical descent at the end. High clearance 4WD is necessary, and drivers should be comfortable with changing terrain, traction management, and more advanced obstacle navigation.
