Trail Overview

Forest Service Road 229 is a maintained dirt road that rolls through the Coconino National Forest below Apache Maid Mountain. This easygoing road will take you through forested areas that give way to meadows. As you are traveling this road, you will see many dispersed camping spots along the way.
