Trail Overview
Freeman Pipeline Trail is a narrow dirt path that traces the gas line route through the picturesque desert landscape. With signs marking the way, this trail is easy to follow as it meanders through the terrain, crossing a series of small washes and ascending and descending a series of gentle hills. As you navigate the Freeman Pipeline, be aware that some sections may be overgrown with desert plants, which could require trimming in the middle of the trail. Caution is advised, as these larger desert plants may brush against your vehicle, potentially leading to paint damage, especially for wider vehicles. Along the way, you'll be treated to beautiful mountain views, enhancing the experience as you travel under the watchful presence of many large saguaro cacti standing proudly against the skyline. This trail conveniently connects to the main Freeman Trail, making it accessible from either end. Starting at the more eastern end, you'll find a nice large dispersed campsite adjacent to Freeman Trail, providing a welcoming spot for those looking to rest or camp under the stars. Important Note: Before embarking on your adventure, ensure you're equipped with enough water and supplies for desert conditions. Don't forget to obtain your Arizona State Land Trust permit for legal access to the area.
