Trail Overview
This trail starts up a steep, small hill with a few very off-camber sandy sections that get your attention right away. Once you climb the hill, you're up on a ridge where the surface transitions to hard-pack sand with lots of rocks. From this elevated position, you'll enjoy dramatic views of the Trigo Mountains spreading out before you. The ridge offers lots of flat areas suitable for dispersed camping, making it a great spot to set up and take in the scenery. The rocky start gives way to more consistent terrain once you gain the ridgeline, making for an interesting contrast in surface conditions along this short route.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail overall. The off-camber sandy sections at the start require some attention and careful line choice, but once you're on top of the ridge, navigation becomes more straightforward. The hard-packed sand with rocks is typical desert terrain and manageable for most high-clearance vehicles.
