Trail Overview
This 2-mile trail (4 miles out-and-back) starts off EC1146. The surface is sandy with lots of little rocks and is lined with various desert trees and brush. The wash gets more and more narrow as you progress before the trail comes out and travels on hard-pack sand in the main area. The trail runs along a mud wall in one section, adding to the dramatic scenery. Some sections feature off-camber terrain, uneven surfaces, and rocks that are more challenging and require four wheel drive and high clearance. The trail ends at the Yuma Proving Grounds border. Be on the lookout for wild burros, as there are many in this area.
Difficulty
The sandy wash with narrow sections requires momentum management and four wheel drive. The sections with off-camber, uneven surfaces, and rocks require high clearance and skilled driving. Airing down is recommended for the sandy sections and improved traction over rocky terrain.
