Trail Overview

This is a scenic route suitable for any stock 4x4. There are no obstacles to tackle on this one, there are a few creek crossings that could be deeper depending on the time of year. Most of the trail is up along a ridgeline with sprawling views of the Mazatzal Mountains to the West and some roaming cattle.

The recent rains have eroded many parts. Definitely need 4x4, but a stock high clearance vehicle can do it.

Got out here about midday and safe to say you definitely need 4WD. Came up from south to north, most of the trail is dry and rough besides the 1 or 2 creek crossings.

Went south to north. The nice, lush green cottonwoods are at the right turn past the ranch when you cross what is probably a creek, but it was dry when I was there. The rest of the trail is scrub pine and high desert brush until you get near the end, back closer to the river. Didn't cross any wet areas on my trek.

Stock 2024 Willys. Overall easy. Did go to 4 low through the few challenging parts more for comfort as I have a manual transmission. Outstanding scenery!

Fun trail! Went from the north to the south. About 3-3.5 miles in there were some tight squeezes with the monster. I now want to go back and do this and start from the south. I think the valley on the south side will be a great fall drive to see the changing leaf colors.

Started at the south end and found the trail to be easy to drive and in good shape. Only a few other vehicles on the trail.

Lots of large ruts from recent rains. Water level wasn’t super high at crossing points. Quite rocky

Decent condition given recent rain. River crossings not an issue.

Very fun trail. 80% is very easy but does have some challenges. Couple steep and rocky inclines. Atleast two points where the trail passes through the creek. Water was about a foot deep. Most parts of the trail are narrow with few parts for vehicles to get by.

it was a great trip. I chose this trail because of my 11 year old son that only has 3 months of experience on a dirtbike and he did great. a couple places were kinda worry some but he did awesome. it was a wonderful trip there and back. I set my trip milage on my dirtbike from main entrance to the river and back and clocked 29.7 miles. I would highly recommend if you have youngsters
