Trail Overview
This is a 2.6-mile-long trail that has lots of challenging rock obstacles. Although designated for ATVs, this trail is more appropriate for intermediate dirt bikers, as the trail has become more narrow over time, and will feel quite tight for ATVs in the bushes. The obstacles are also more suited to dirt bikes, with big ledges and boulders in the trail. The northern half of the trail is easier, as it winds between the scrub oak bushes, with nice views of the surrounding hills and rocky outcroppings. It has short, steep grades and some tighter turns, but is mostly flowy. It becomes rockier as it descends, starting to have a layer of small, loose baby-head-sized rocks. The trail becomes rutted in spots and crosses little rocky ravines. The southern half of the trail is full of moderate rock obstacles, including ledges a couple of feet high, short technical climbs, and moderate drop-offs. These features would be quite tricky on an ATV. You ride right next to scenic rock outcroppings and giant boulders, though.
Difficulty
This trail is of moderate difficulty due to frequent rock obstacles, more prominent in the southern half of the route. It is ideal for intermediate-level dirt bikers, as the trail would feel too narrow and technical for ATVs. It has become tighter over time and does not look trafficked by ATVs. Expect deep ruts, rock ledges, loose terrain, and tight maneuvering.
