Trail Overview

Buckboard Road stretches just over 4 miles long and is a somewhat maintained dirt road. You start just off Sycamore Canyon Road and start to climb up the rolling hills of the Coconino National Forest. There are several switchbacks with blind turns, so be careful of others on the road. It is more than likely you will see other off-roaders on this trail. There are many camping sites along this trail as well as a staging area just off the trail. There is evidence of this trail becoming a muddy mess after moderate rain or snow. This trail ends at the intersection with the Skeleton Bones Trail.

The recent grading has left this road very rocky. Pebbly more like. Tons of rocks from the base of the climb (from Sycamore Canyon Rd) all the way up and through most of it. For us 2-Wheels, it's a patience tested and Line Maker. The 258 was super fine just a few weeks ago with small spots of "opportunities" to test your 'bounce'. Now...it's half the speed and ify corners. My guess is the next hard rain we get will clear the debris away...I hope.
