Trail Overview
This is a 1.6-mile-long dirt bike trail through the Hualapai Mountains that is road-width for its entire length. It’s not overly difficult for dirt bikes, but it looks like this trail gets used by wider vehicles, as the trail signs do not have width designations in this system, so watch out for oncoming traffic. There are frequent eroded spots throughout the route where one side of the trail is foot deep ruts. There are a few large boulders and rock faces embedded within the trail that are easy to ride over. From the south end off of DW Ranch Road, the trail starts with a short climb, then descends gradually for the rest of the route as it goes north. It skirts around some private property, so make sure to stay on the trail before it ends on the north end at a wide sandy wash ATV trail. The route goes through pinyon pines and prickly pear cactus and goes past neat granite boulder rock formations in a scenic high desert setting. It only has a few steeper spots and big washouts and ruts, but it has potential for changing conditions with erosion over time, as this high desert terrain changes a lot with moisture levels. The trail surface is mostly a mix of dirt and pea-gravel, so it can be pretty loose, especially in dry months.
Difficulty
This trail is easy for dirt bikes because it is mostly gradual or flat, with mild erosion and rutting, a few larger embedded rocks, but no major obstacles. It is consistently easy throughout the short route, and easy to follow.
