Trail Overview

BLM 38069 starts on Arizona State Trust Land and ends on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. A valid Arizona State Trust Land permit is required for the first portion of the trail before it transitions onto BLM-managed land. The trail is easy and suitable for most passenger vehicles under normal conditions. It is especially popular for scenic evening drives and spectacular desert sunsets. The area is covered with classic Sonoran Desert vegetation, including saguaro, prickly pear, and dense stands of jumping cholla cactus. Exercise caution when walking around viewpoints or campsites, as cholla spines can easily attach to clothing and skin. Proper footwear is highly recommended.
