Trail Overview
The 9150 Soup Trail is a mashup of a series of variations of the 9150 Trail system. This system accesses a remote part of the Coconino National Forest and is primarily used by hunters and campers throughout the year. There are no major obstacles on this trail, though there is some erosion and water damage, some of which will put your vehicle off-camber, but nothing too gnarly. It's a one-lane track, with areas to pass and to turn around, but please remember if you do have to leave the established path to TREAD LIGHTLY as this area is fragile and is prone to damage easily. There are sporadic campsites, some with primitive rock fire rings. As always, please check local forest service regulations for the area as this zone is susceptible to large and uncontrollable wildfires. The views along this road are pretty amazing, especially when looking North, toward the Navajo Reservation and open desert. One can even see the Coconino Rim, and Northeast of the the Grand Canyon National Park.
Difficulty
This is an unmaintained dirt track that leads to a remote area of the Coconino National Forest. You'll encounter water damage and erosion along this trail, and it might become somewhat challenging after a rain or major monsoon event. There is very little service in this area, so offline maps are encouraged.
