Trail Overview

The Black Diamond Peak 1 Trail is part of the West Side Healy trail network. The trail starts in the low brush and trees just south west of the downtown of Healy and climbs up the side of a lower mountain before dropping the rider off at the top of a look out point just north of Black Diamond Peak and provides breathtaking views of the Healy valley just on the outskirts of Denali National Park and preserve.

Difficulty

The Black Diamond Peak 1 trail is rated as a 3 due to the uneven, rutted trail starting 1/3 of the way up the mountain and season-dependent mud holes that could be troublesome for any vehicles with low ground clearance.

Came up late 10p to camp, ATV tours run the road until 1130p. Camped overnight with another few ATVs passing through after midnight. Great view, probably recommend against camping however.
