Trail Overview

USFSR #522 is an entry/exit road to the Choccolocco Wildlife Management Area within the Talladega National Forest. It begins at AL HWY-9 and ends at USFSR #531. Its maintained nearly all year long, but is an uneven gravel road with many pot holes and a few wash outs. High clearance 2WD vehicles wouldn't have any issues as the road is hard packed from frequent travel.

Sunny, 78°, dry. Trail was in good condition and is perfect for those wanting a fairly easy ride. Great for those just starting their off-road riding journey. Mostly packed gravel with a couple of loose sections from recent maintenance. Some grades are slightly above gentle or this would be a "1" trail.
