Trail Overview

Lukes Loop is an easy, 4.3-mile off-road trail near Prattville, Alabama, offering a relaxing drive through a wildlife management area with opportunities to spot local fauna. Ideal for beginners, scenic cruisers, and stock four-wheel-drive vehicles, this route features an elevation gain of 144 feet, running from a minimum elevation of 408 feet to a maximum of 488 feet. The track is primarily composed of mixed gravel and dirt, making it accessible year-round for a wide variety of rigs, including high-clearance SUVs, trucks, and SxSs. Along the route, drivers will navigate a single-lane trail with several pull-off areas to accommodate oncoming traffic safely. While the trail remains straightforward during dry conditions, the wet season introduces shallow mud holes, sandy patches, and small rutted sections that require careful line choice but no specialized recovery gear. The main loop begins off Autauga County 57 and winds eastward toward Bridge Creek, with several seasonal spur trails branching off the main path. Most of these seasonal trails end in dead ends, though some loop back to the main route, offering additional exploring for those looking to extend their trip. Due to its location within a wildlife management area, visitors should remain mindful of seasonal hunting schedules and local regulations when planning their visit.
