Trail Overview
Virgin Falls Trail is a narrow, single-vehicle-width path winding through a dense forest with a heavy tree canopy. The trail runs roughly parallel to the ocean to the north-northwest, but the thick vegetation and tall trees largely obscure views of the water. Occasionally, very short "picture window" openings provide glimpses of the ocean as you progress along the route. The trail is long and most of the "views" are hindered by the tall trees. The road surface is a mix of gravel and dirt, with numerous potholes scattered throughout, requiring careful navigation. Small water holes appear in spots, adding to the trail's variable conditions. A notably steep and rocky section increases the difficulty rating to 3, demanding attentive driving and good traction. Additionally, the trail passes a massive landslide area -- a striking natural feature that adds to the rugged character of the route. The trail ends at the Virgin Falls.
Difficulty
Most of the trail is easy, but the rocky, steep section and landslide zone require extra caution and vehicle readiness. This trail is suitable for vehicles with moderate off-road capability.
