Elkin Taseko FSR

While en route to Chilko Lake, this short but rewarding detour takes you along Elkin Taseko FSR past two beautiful lakes tucked into the Chilcotin wilderness. The road is somewhat maintained with occasional potholes and rough patches, but is generally accessible with most vehicles that have moderate clearance. On the north side of Vedan Lake, there is a simple rec site with a boat launch. Be aware that there are no picnic tables, fire pits, or pit toilets - bring what you need and be prepared to pack out all garbage. NOTE: You must obtain a permit from the Xeni Gwet'in First Nations Government before traveling into this area. Refer to the attached photos for permit details and contact numbers.
